I recently took an interest in Leadership 2's Chalice of Rediculous Confidence award. It's a tally of the club members performance in tournaments over the course of a year.
For each top 10 finish members are awarded points based on the following scale:
1st place: 10pts
2nd place: 9 pts
3rd place: 8ts
and so on and so on until:
There was some discussion on a group board pertaining to probability; specifically the observation that the outcomes of dice rolling tend to resemble the statistical expectation value as the number of dice that are rolled increases. This observation is absolutely true at the analytical level and I'd like to take a moment to write out why that is.
