Because the website is up much later than normal, I'm implemented a
"Mark couldn't update the website" (yes, that was one of the challenges)
special registration offer. From now until May 1st, registration is
only $25 for the whole weekend. This is lower than registration has
ever been for the event since we opened it up to all comers all those
years ago, even lower than the early registration price drop that I
implemented when the economy started tanking. Think of it as my apology
to you for getting off to a late start, and take advantage while the
price break is available. Keep in mind that May 1st is a little less
than 3 weeks away, and after that date the price goes up to $40 until
the start of August. So get signed up and send in your money as quick
as you can!
Some notes:
- The 2010 composition sheet isn't up yet. I've left the 2009
composition sheet in place so you can get an idea about how we judge
composition here (or to jog your memory if you've been a participant
before)
- We are allowing Special Characters. I should say, we're allowing
limited Special Characters. You can bring Special Characters as long as
they a) don't take a Lord slot (e.g. aren't "Lord level") and b) aren't
part of the Daemons of Chaos army book (because even those Hero-level
SCs are just plain nasty). I got the idea for these restrictions from
another IndyGT, and I'm stealin' 'em!
- If 8th Edition comes out before August, we'll be using that edition of
the rules. If it doesn't, we'll be using 7th Edition (even if 8th is
released on, say, August 1st). We need to give folks time to absorb a
new set of rules before unleashing them in our tournament. Just over 3
weeks is probably enough time (barely). The same guideline goes for a
new army book - if it's out before August, it's good.
- There was some controversy surrounding our experimental 2009
sportsmanship scoring, so that will be one of the things that gets
tweaked (again) this year. Hopefully this year's system does it's job
of keeping everyone relaxed and friendly, and giving a small boost to
the guys that everyone just has a blast playing!
Let me know if you have any questions about this year's event that I
haven't answered here!
Thanks,
Mark H.
